Same shit in Germany: hospitals only get government assistance if they have over 75% occupancy, so hospitals got rid of beds to get over 75%. Then the government reduced the number of beds a nurse can service (because muh overworked tic tok nurses), so hospitals shut down even more ICU beds.

Politicians are evil. They do ANYTHING for power.
