Dug the 2nd season, lot to unpack in that season. Can see why the corporate press lost their shit over it, little too close to home is my bet. How was the 3rd season? Never got around to seeing it, had 2 jobs at the time and it kinda fell off my radar.
Haven’t seen it either but I’ve heard very mixed things, a lot of people hate it but consensus seems to be that it’s a little better than 2 but still no where near as good as one. I don’t really have much interest in seeing it myself, it doesn’t have any kind of hook like Mathew McConaughey or Woody Harrelson or Alexandra Dodorio’s tits.
I really don't think directors have as much to do with the final product as we are led to believe. Star Wars was saved in editing. Cinematographers are responsible for the visual aesthetic. The writers obviously control what you're hearing in terms of dialogue and story. The director is usually a glorified manager. His or her artistic input is frequently limited to delegating work, making some requests, and handling the actors. In the cases of Matthew McConaughey and Woodie harrelson, exactly how much direction do you think these guys needed?
Point being: true detective season 1 was generational television for a lot of reasons. This cuck director might not be a particularly big one.
Sucks this guy turn out to be such a fag. True Detective s1 is still one of the best things I’ve ever watched.

No way is it better than the 2nd. It's dull, woke, full of red herrings that go nowhere, and the main character is a charisma vacuum. Also no tits.
