I wonder what his thinking process was. If I get a Beetles haircut, no one will be able to tell that I am a guy?
Apparently it's there to distract from the facial hair that Xir neglected to remove when trying to get people to believe that he is a she. I mean, hell, if you're going to claim to be the opposite sex, at least try to look the damn part.
