I found this while looking for articles about bad comic covers, and I also found this Imgur gallery promoting regressive leftist conspiracy theories about sexy poses and related artistic errors: https://imgur.com/a/1snFc
In summary, the meme is just bullshit based on the extremist feminist concept known as objectification theory and is being used to promote sexism against men.
I bet no one ever noticed how Ducktales artists always seem to twist the beaks of the Ducks, so that when they're in profile at eye level, the beaks look twisted so you can see the entire inside of the mouth, as if Elmer Fudd shot them.
I've also noticed other weird, twisted non-human faces, like they don't train comics/animation artists in drawing non-humans any more. (And I mean outside of assy artwork in general. Cosmo in full-face in the Guardians cartoon, for instance. YIKES.)
As far as the "brokeback" thing goes, 30 years ago we would have just put that down to the lack of familiarity with the female form that The Original Incels (aka comic book artists) enjoyed, laughed our asses off at them, and called it a day. And we didn't have the word "incel". We just used the word NERD.
Admittedly, a lot of those covers had severe scale and proportion problems that immediately disqualified them from being attractive. Artists that don't study anatomy and employ models irritate the hell out of me.
BUT, I have also seen women actually stand in that twisted pose. Not every women is inflexible or stiff as a 12 day dead fish--some of them are even atheletic!
Lol. PG-55? Must be one HELL of a comic. ;)
PG, Issue 55
I know, it's just the way it looks is hilarious.
Fuck Iowa.
Just sayin.
