If they say "Chauvin was a bad cop" AND "Floyd was a saint" then some people they disagree with can still meet them half way.

If they say "Floyd was a saint" BECAUSE "Chauvin was a bad cop" then you're either with them totally or against them totally.

They don't want to meet anyone halfway because then their own views would be under scrutiny, and they can't defend pointing a gun at a womb and they know that.
