As a former leftist what changed my perspective was moving out and having to support myself. I never bought into the idpol shit because like anyone with a moral core I saw how awful it is even then. But once you have to make rent/mortgage payments and are completely responsible for your own shit government interference in your life doesn't seem so benign anymore. The Democraps' tax and spend schemes make it harder to pay the bills, their hug a thug crime policies turn safe neighborhoods into gang infested hell holes, and then of course they don't want you having a gun to protect yourself from their constituents. Most of these 35+ people you talk about probably still live in mommy's basement. The real world has a habit of disabusing people of their Marxist delusions.
