Puritans took shit super far, come on. Read up on them. Their philosophy literally included concepts like "visible saints", and social pressure focused very heavily on looking and acting to exacts standards of "morals and decency".
There was a reason the witch trials erupted in Puritan communities, not Christian, Catholic, Protestant, Quaker, etc. communities.

Also, it's funny that you can read some fairly obscure (to most people who pass through today's educational system) trivia like "visible saint", see some words you class as no-no, and pull an excellent NPC impression.
Fucks sake, I had to write a few papers about the bloody Puritans for an American History class a few years ago. I'd like to think I have some fucking idea what I'm referring to.
