There is apparently a feature on Steam that if enabled, authorizes Valve staff to moderate game hubs, which has resulted in several people including myself getting banned from game hubs without authorization by the developers with no way for them to correct this issue themselves.
I want to create a thread about this bullshit fucking with developers and their communities, but Valve has been continuously threatening my account and I do not want to risk a questionable general permaban from the Steam community that will interfere with my ability to seek customer support, that is why I want the people here to create a thread about this shitty feature that allows their corrupt regressive leftist staff to fuck with their userbase.
DO NOT DISCLOSE A THREAD REQUEST WAS MADE HERE OR THEY MAY FIGURE IT OUT I AM THE SOURCE AND PERMABAN ME, I have even deleted a thread containing the text I posted on Steam.
Epic Games Store looking pretty good right now, right?
Yet another thing I was right about. I said Steam was woke and just hiding it well.
I mean, Epic is my choice. You can go with whatever, just not Origin. Please.
They're not hiding it all. People just don't give a shit when it involves things like anime boobs, and they treat incidents like the BLM troll game as one off incidents.
Steam has a lot of convenient features; it's hard for people to get worked about principles.
Edit: Epic is woke dog shit too. By the by.
I don't think Epic is that woke. They made one misstep and they never spoke of it again. Everyone else doubled down again this year, several sports are still fucking kneeling.
The MLK thing is neither here nor there, because while it's pretty out of place, the racial narrative is so fucked that going back to MLK would be considered extremist. Rainbow Royale was just cheap pandering with assets that had been in the files since 2019 being thrown out for free with rainbow recolors. When it came down to censoring a creator for saying gays are unnatural (something not even conservatives do now), despite the mob begging Epic to permaban, they allowed the creator to apologize for their words and retain their status as an Epic Partner.
They've done more to help wrongthinkers than any other company. Their entire lawsuit was about the idea that these large tech companies shouldn't be allowed to boot anyone off, that sideloading should be made easy and safe.
While their intentions are to fill their Chinese overlords' pockets by starting an iOS Epic Store, if they had been successful, it would have been a path for a return of the likes of Infowars to iOS.
I honestly sound like a shill for them sometimes, but I do genuinely believe they haven't gone fully retarded yet.
This is a good response; I'll put aside the pride, BLM and MLK stuff for now and keep an eye on them.
I despise Epic's Chinese ties but I'll admit I do like them as a potential 'disruptive source' in regards to competition (Steam, Android/iOS).
Sadly, Epic games is worthless as a competitor and Valve knows this.
The only way someone could legitimately compete with Valve would be to do something like allowing content banned from the platform and ignoring regional laws for all content.
