It was a law/legal precedent that stated that women who felt threatened could use lethal force in "self-defence" without having to present evidence of the threat existing. It also upgraded "emotional abuse" to being considered a threat to life.

It was used to get a woman off for beating her old wheelchair bound husband to death.
