Notice how he immediately defaults to an appeal to emotion? It's a tactic most commonly used by con-artists and charlatans throughout history. When they're unable to provide a satisfying answer that makes them look good or that bolsters their view, it becomes an appeal to emotion: "think about the women and children" — because everyone wants to agree with that message at a fundamental level. Who wouldn't want to think of them, right? In reality, it's duplicitous and manipulative yet so many people fall for it every single time. When someone disagrees with him, all they hear is "Oh, he/she doesn't care about the women and children!"

The guy is such a scumbag narcissist that he even acts like the finely curated softball questions that journalist toss at him are oh-so-tough and difficult, just so he can toot his own horn. But he made sure to give them a quick reach around and stroke their ego by validating their "facts" and "science" — because journalists are scientists now.
What he never mentioned is the huge list of lies that they've been caught publishing/broadcasting and have been called out for; the stories that affect their political agenda which they obfuscate and ignore with insane frequency; Or even the actual science that they make sure never to mention because it doesn't synchronize with the narrative they wish to promote.

Trudeau is just an all around obnoxiously smug asshole and everything about him comes across as fake and dishonest. I'll never understand how the people who vote for him fail to see it.
