More seriously, the Left never objected to the imperialism of America - only to the specific neocon ideology we were forcibly exporting. Slap a rainbow flag on that same imperialism and leftists morph into fanatical zealots for the state, eagerly promoting and enforcing radical and violent policy far beyond anything ever enacted by the previous regime.
Meanwhile, the primary beneficiaries - the military industrial complex, the permanent bureaucracy of the deep state, the moneyed elite class - remain the same. They've adopted a few surface measures - a little "diversity" here, a little "equity" there - but these are cheaper than most traditional danegeld. After all, these particular vikings are mostly placated by tweets.
So anyways, the Afghan people are once again repelling the imposition of a foreign culture, and it only took about 72 hours to achieve total victory this time. That's how impotent and pathetic the Rainbow Reich truly is. Good news for those of us still suffering their occupation: when the time comes to break these rainbow shackles, it shouldn't take terribly long.
I admire your optimism.
It's going to take a depressingly long time to trigger the preference cascade, but it's going to move fast.
