Is someone going to point out the first amendment rulings by the supreme court to them or they going to ign...plan b?
At the very least, several high profile Democrats -- as well as huge publications and outlets, such as, NYT, WaPo, LA Times, CNN, MSNBC, etc.. -- have been openly advocating for speech restrictions and the abolishment of certain constitutional amendments for several years now.
I think they're very likely just waiting for the perfect opportunity and excuse to act. The Capitol event very well could be the one they've been hoping for. If it's not, then it will still serve as a sort of preamble to point to for when the time does arrive.
I really don't think anyone would be surprised by this revelation, though. Corporations in general have never given up on PIPA/SOPA, they've just changed their approach and the tactics they wish to use.
There's a very real reason that nearly every "news" organization has completely removed all the comment sections from their websites. These people do not like being questioned and corrected -- and people having the ability to do so is antithetical to pushing whatever agenda they have at that particular moment. If you're able to label anyone who does state something different than what's written in an "authoritative source" as "misinformation," then it becomes super easy to completely control any narrative, regardless of the veracity of the information presented.
They hate that document as they consider it a relic of the old republic. This is the progressives country now.
A new galactic fempire! Mwa hahahaha.
