The actual Cowboy Bebop is a very well-done series. In its own descriptors, it's "less of a space opera, and more of a space jazz", so if you HATE the space opera genre, even with a bit more action and... well... Bebop, then you're not going to like it. But otherwise, it goes through enough genres while still staying true to the main plot, story, characters, and feel, that everyone will find SOME episodes of it they'll like. (in example, you get buddy cop genre episodes, noir thriller types, 24:00-style counter-terrorist investigations, horror, fast'n'furious vehicular chase/race kind of episodes, etc). Both sub and dub are stellar, and I'm a subs-only person most of the time saying that.
I doubt the Netflix adaptation will live up to the original. The cost of the setpieces alone Netflix isn't going to pony up, let alone the cost of solid directing and acting, shoots and re-shoots and re-records to make sure everything is just right... But if you're bored, for sure, check out the original when you get a chance, it's a piece of internet and anime history.
I love space opera! I’ll have to check it out then. I always heard good things but couldn’t guess what it was about from the title and was too lazy to investigate.

I can tell from this casting it’s going to be shit. After Witcher I won’t watch anything from that disgusting company with their weird fucking black fetish. Either do it in an intelligent way without harming the characters we know, or don’t do it at all.
This scum has no respect for the source material or the fans.
