NOTHING is safe from these people. They will never stop. While it wasn't much better back in the day, I am quickly becoming convinced when you mix Marxism with post modernism, you get the perniciousness of Marxism, and the utter mind-sickly nihilism of post modernism.
So they use marxist tactics to worm themselves into things that work, and use their post modernist minds, philosophy to destroy it.
You could see them as a more weaselly and cowardly Kefka from final fantasy 6.
They want to as he put it "Create a monument to non existence".
Honestly, I don't know if there is any other way to deal with them than to never allow them any power whatsoever, possibly having them full on committed and imprisoned, or to put them out of their own and everyone else's misery.
I don't say that lightly and I don't enjoy saying it but these people do seem pretty miserable and insane. They don't ever seem to enjoy anything and they only seem to wish to spread their misery around and destroy everything functional. Furthermore they seem to be utterly incapable of being reasoned with.. As if they were some sort of demon or something, or a cancer given a body and a sentient mind.
It's a serious problem and I can't think of one good way to deal with it. Everything seems to either not work,be highly passive and reactionary against them when they break something or be brutal, nasty and heavy handed.
And yeah, I find myself often wondering at a peaceful solution to these people. They fundamentally reject knowledge, ideas, responsibility, and most every cornerstone of modern society. Cancerous parasites in a literal sense. They exploit pretty much every positive trait in people: Empathy for the unfortunate, Charity for the poor, Tolerance of people different than you, compassion for those who are less able than you, and protection of those less able to protect themselves.
The end result of the unholy trinity of marxism, feminism, and postmodernism can only be one of two things: the death of society, or the death of virtue.
Although I already gave up on western entertainment, I'm stil amazed these people won't stop until they get their grubby hands on any franchise that looked fondly upon and trample those entertainment beyond recognition. Last year was Doctor Who and Thundercats, and just a month ago, He-man got a bad re-makeover.
I'm just glad I have little to no attachments to any western entertainment. I used to have nostalgic attachment with Baldur's gate and Knights of the old republic but I saw it coming from mile away it's only a matter of time Bioware and Obsidian will change for the worse once the key figures leave the companies. So I think key message in this thread is leave any lingering attachments to your favourite series that have mainstream appeal. Having any kind of expectation for any remakes (and sequels) seem recipe for more disappointment. Just look what happened to Vampire Bloodline.
That makes about millions of people that were disappointed in Star Wars, Doctor Who or Mass Effect ending. Or I think it's just you that you got crushed so hard by constant disappointment of Gundam, you expect nihilism out of everybody.
I never played Mass Effect or watched any of aforementioned franchise Star Wars or Dcotor Who, they became long running season of continuous episodes for a fucking reason: To get people invested in the stories. If they didn't want people to invest in the series, they would have run it like how superhero comics get released.
Oh, no.
No no no no no.
What was the best installment of SimCity? 2k.
What was the best version of Civilization? Alpha Centauri.
Best Star Wars? Empire Strikes Back.
Best Star Trek? Movies 2-4.
Best superhero series? Batman the Animated Series.
Best president in my lifetime? Reagan.
Everything is downhill. Y'understand? EVERYTHING is downhill. Everything.
If you go through life being surprised by the next thing to go downhill, you're choosing to be angry. You are literally choosing to feed yourself a stream of things to be angry about instead of living to find things to enjoy, and do, and build, and create.
You aren't wrong there.
Also not wrong.
Thanks, dude. Now I have the SimCity 2000 theme tune stuck in my head.
beep beep bip bip bop, danana naa naa...
I think you suffer from wearing nostalgia goggle way too fucking much where everything old is best shit ever. Now I know why your posts seem insufferable.
And no in my opinion, Star Wars was overrated yes even Empire Strikes Back. Sure best superhero series may have been Batman the Animated Series but not every episodes were great.
You keep missing the point which is that you can approach life from a couple perspectives.
You are choosing to expect that good things are to come, and then you are disappointed and angry when that does not happen.
Why do that to yourself?
In case you missed it.
In reality, I just wanted to share the quote in the OP made by some user a little while ago back in Kotakuinaction thread in the reddit but I just can't make the thread putting this quotes without any contexts. Conveniently there is Saints Row Reboot and Cowboy Bebop news, so I tried to fill in with my anecdotes yet it seems I got misinterpreted or I'm just very fucking bad at explaining shit.
