I'm working on a couple of side projects and I'm wondering what people here would say should be the deciding factors in whether or not to support a business. For example:
Pros:
-
Pro-free speech
-
Against compelled vaccination
-
Against illegal immigration
Cons:
-
Supports leftist policies
-
Requires masks
-
Requires employee vaccination
-
Requires customer vaccination
-
Pro-censorship
-
Against election security
-
Pro-illegal immigration
It's sort of complicated. If we are talking physical businesses, customer vaccines, masks, and extremely in your face leftist policy support (like rainbow flags, BLM signs) are huge cons. Pros being as simple as not doing those things. Asking me to wear a mask is a good way to get me to go somewhere else.
Product-wise, censorship is my #1 con and is going to be the closest to making a company a no-go. I lump most of the rest like employee vaccinations, pro-illegals, etc. into leftist policies. They aren't inherently a no-go, but they are a huge point of judgement. Pros would be standing up to censorship, keeping politics out of it, independent non-conglomerate owned companies, and for things I want to last a long time I avoid China. I don't really care for places that are in your face right wing politics either, just stay out of it.
