The choice of saying "yes this should be the banks' call" is binary.

That's an over simplification of the topic, to be honest. No, banks shouldn't be allowed to decide what you do or do not spend your currency on.

Central banks also should not exist in the first place. Nor should this ridiculous level of e-whoring.

Both sides of this are a blight on society.
