I actually heard this in activist circles (in Aus) nearly a decade ago, from weirdo young women who probably aspired to be "someone just like Jen", lol...
Same women (one had a last name, or possible nickname, that was just a few letters off of "pyjamas", lol...) became almost apoplectic with rage when one of us said "Hey guys", or some other near-universal gender neutral collective term, lololol...
These uhh, folx, later went on to abandon that group altogether, because it "Just wasn't [woke] enough for them", and became part of a near-communist, extreme leftist organization for the kinds of students who never actually graduate (we all know a few, right?)...
So yeah, trust me, in THOSE kinds of circles, this shit has been "normalised" for at least that long, and this was what, 2013, in Melbourne of all places, lol...
And yes, I've flown in some pretty, uhh... "Interesting" circles, ha... But let's not go there.
Side note, didn't Psaki come out and do one of her very first press conferences with something resembling dreads going on with her hair..?
The internet seems to be scrubbed of the evidence, but I swear I remember seeing that, lol... She was super casually dressed, at least, I do remember that much.
Which is fine, sure, but I honestly couldn't take her quite as seriously after that, lololol...
Also, someone PLEASE post the Greta Vogue fashion hypocrisy, or I'm just gonna have to do it myself, heh...
Fuck Vogue, on so many levels.
