While that sounds sarcastic, it's a hell of a lot more than just whinging about it here. Last I checked, speaking ill of your government isn't an immediate death sentence. You might be a subsidiary of China, but you're not under their direct rules just yet.
I mean, sure, but I'm not in Victoria... No one gives a flying fuck what I, or any other Australian here, thinks...
But there's also, with no sarcasm, the issue of censorship. Newspapers won't publish those letters. Neither will television read them out. Nor will the radio...
So yes, I can make SOME noise, offline, but the point is, I guarantee you it will just be lost in the abyss of censorious bullshit that Australia has become. No one here cares anymore. That's why "whinging" here, on a couple of subreddits (you know which ones, already), and perhaps on anti-social media, is about the best we can do, other than protesting it directly... Unfortunately, I fully admit.
But anyway, at least I'm not whinging about "teh waaaahmeeeennnzzzz", or "da jooz", like some people here... I would like to think, in that way at least, that this is a slight change of pace/breath of fresh air, for now at least, lol...
Side note, if we have anyone in this forum who does live in Victoria rn, feel free to chime in on how we can help. I know that I, and presumably the other Aussies and Kiwis on here, will support you however we can, gratis.
Also, the one thing that I do at least do, is read extremely widely on what is going on...
I've done my research. I know my shit. As, seemingly, does danielmann. So at least we are trying to disseminate that information, and actual, true facts, to a broader audience, not just to "share our misfortune" or blackpill people, but also in the hope that... It makes people feel less alone, and less... Like they're crazy. Because if you PURELY watch mainstream media/news, and/or look at "social" media, you won't see any of this represented or spoken about, anywhere...
So if nothing else, that gives me a bit of hope, and I firmly hope that it does the same for anyone else, currently stuck in lockdown like the 12 million of us here, because that's better than living stuck in your head through the rest of this year from hell, I can at least say that much...

What’s nuts is that life is back to normal in the Southern US and has been for a long time. We never even went through the lockdowns. They keep hyping cases and deaths but if you are just out in the street you wouldn’t know it.
Kids are playing in the neighborhood park and everyone is enjoying themselves. I will pray for you all in Aus. It’s hard to imagine being trapped like that.
