Hate to speak ill of the dead but do obituarys normally list your high-school career when you're 40 years old? Maybe I've only read old people's obituary but I always thought they listed relatives and such.
Typically the first thing mentioned is surviving kin as theyre supposed to be more important than anything else... given that this isnt the case, her foolishness dies with her and wont pass to the next generation.
In my experience, surviving kin is almost always the LAST sentence.
Does she have any though? So many Millennials/gen-x don't have kids, and their parents may already be gone. Not to mention most are underachievers, or never achievers. I foresee many sad, sad obituaries in the future, probably will mention cats, they do in their dating profiles already.
If I had to guess, it was her parents who helped filled that in. If you follow the archive link, it gives a full background of her achievements from high school until death. Also, if you plan to attend her funeral:
Cuz clearly it was from "natural causes" and not the goddamn foreign substance
Usually it will be a couple lines of “graduated from XYZ high school class of ‘YY. Went on to ABC college…”
Usually if an obit mentions high school at all, it's just a quick "went to Bob Dobson High School, graduated Class of '69" before continuing on to more recent info. The only time you see obits digging that far back for someone who is older than 25 is if their accomplishments as an adult didn't amount to jack shit and they're wanting to play for more sympathy for the deceased, or whoever is paying for the obit decided to get wordy and was willing to pay for the extra lines.
It can be whatever you want, and is usually charged by length so you're going to put the most important details. So yeah, it speaks to her "career".
