I don't know if she earns less per person from Disney+, in which case there might be an argument, but I doubt it would be even remotely in the region of 50 million in damages
I literally addressed your points in the 1st post. Your entire argument is based on the assumption that she would have earned significantly more if she were compensated entirely through theater ticket sales.
I made 2 good points that you ignored:
a greater number of subscribers may have watched the movie than the number lost from theater tickets
there are many people who might watch it on someone elses' subscription but never would have watched the movie otherwise(people like me).
Unless you are privy to some information that nobody else other than Disney lawyers would be, you're talking out your ass, 'cuz there was nothing in the linked article.
The fact that she’s suing them over a same day release on the streaming platform is reason enough to believe that she is making less money off streaming than theaters. Because who the fuck would want to get in a legal battle with the Walt Disney Company if they didn’t think they had a good case. She may be rich but she’s not frivolous lawsuit with one of the largest companies in the world rich.
People watching it off someone else’s subscription does not give her more money.
And her contract stated (according to cnbc) that the film were to receive an exclusive theatrical releases which it did not
Suing someone doesn't mean you are correct. Frivolous lawsuits happen all the time and she DEFINITELY has the capital to throw around a few frivolous lawsuits if she thinks she can get attention from it.
Your assumption is that she even expects to win. The US womens' footy team sued FIFA or whoever for 'underpaying' them even though they have better contracts than the men for the same money. If they thought they had a chance of succeeding, they were deluded- same as ScarJo is if Disney isn't lying through it's teeth.
I already explained how "people watching off others' subscriptions" doesn't necessarily lose her money- you're just ASSuming. Disney stated that they increased her earning potential by also releasing on Disney+. I assume they actually have some facts and figures to back up what they say, unlike you.
Stop simping for a woman who doesn't even know or care who you are, and worst of all, stop making me defend fucking Disney!
You haven’t explained how others watching off other subscriptions doesn’t mean a loss of money you just said it. Buying one ticket that multiple people watch through Disney plus vs multiple from the theater is less income being split with her
Oh yes Disney is a super ethical company that would not ever screw over their employees if it meant the company made an extra buck. It’s not like Disney has ever done that before to their animators, theme park employees, and actors before. /s
Your assumption is no more reasonable than mine. She says Disney cost her money, Disney says nah uh we actually made you money even though we still broke the exclusive theatrical release. don’t sue us. You just happen to side with the mega Corp.
Us women’s national team is wrong and it’s a different situation entirely since the details of their contracts are typically public and it’s a known fact that they were offered the same contract as the men, but they rejected it. Nice red herring though.
Her contract called for an exclusive theater release which did not happen. At that point alone the contract was violated. I’m not simping for Johansson. I haven’t seen the movie nor do I plan to. Im saying Disney likely has broken her contract. Why you insist that Disney is in the right is beyond me unless this is another “woman bad” post.
FFS. I'm saying you don't have the numbers to say otherwise. I gave you TWO reasons(repeatedly) why 'sharing' a Disney+ subscription might NOT have affected her income- People who might not have watched the movie otherwise may have decided to watch through Disney+ since they are already subscribed anyway and additional watchers may not have decided to watch the movie at all without access to the subscription. I am one of those people who would never pay to watch that movie, but might watch if it's on TV or a friends' subscription.
I don't care if Disney is SUPER-BIG-BAD-EEEEVIL COMPANY, you don't have ANY data to say 1 way or the other. You're just simping for ScarJo with 0 reason to believe SHE ISN'T LYING EITHER.
I'm not siding with anyone, I'm saying YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT- NOBODY DOES! WAIT FOR THE COURTS TO SORT IT OUT.
How is the Womens' team point a red herring? I wasn't making a statement about the legitimacy of the case, merely DEMONSTRATING that suing someone doesn't automatically make them correct- which you ARE assuming for ScarJo.
I don't know how simply I can explain this to you, I'm not defending Disney or ScarJo. I'm not disputing that the contract was likely broken if the release was supposed to be exclusive to theater, I'm saying we need to wait for the court decision to determine whether or not her earnings were affected by the Disney+ release. If she was properly remunerated for the extra Disney+ views, then this is likely a lawsuit for attention.
You've been attacking my comments just for being skeptical of ScarJo's motive for suing and taking a 'Wait and see' attitude- YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY A SIMP.
