I just had a long vaccine discussion with someone yesterday who is all for them and borderline on requiring them. My main point was based on things like this. The point being, why am I only supposed to listen to vaccine supporting opinions? There are qualified doctors on both sides of the argument. I think the vaccine should be made available by choice to any adults who want it. If you want it, get it, if you don't then don't.

I'm not even close to conspiratorial enough to think it's designed with malicious intent, just rushed and reckless. It would be great if mRNA tech turned out to be a good useful method for dealing with disease. Maybe we could figure out actual shitty viruses like Ebola with it.

When you've got so many people I don't trust working so diligently to silence half the argument, that's a huge red flag. I brought that up, and the discussion kinda died. This person isn't a raging leftist but I do know they are absolutely terrified of Covid. So that fear throws rational thought out the window to be replaced with CNN speak about how no one wears masks and they all haven't gotten the vaccine and it's all their fault. It's almost like a video game, until I can cleanse out the fear, there's no room for anything else.
