I just ask for consistency. I’m all for whatever punishment the people who stormed the Capitol get. My issue is the same people that didn’t mind all that vandalism and destruction last summer can’t now wring their hands about this. I have a relative whose small business was destroyed last summer. But of course nobody cares about them and they are moving to a different area.
Not saying you are one of them but I’m personally tired of these crocodile tears about Jan 6 when they were cheering on those thugs who destroyed cities. When my left leaning cousins pressed me about Jan 6 is said once you stop being peaceful then you are thugs in my eye. So if they call the people who stormed the Capitol thugs then they need to apply it to the people they were cheerleading last summer.
When airing grievances with the government, Jan 6th took their issues directly to the government. BLM saw fit to avoid the government, avoid the media, and just burn down a bunch of private property instead.
I have a ton of lefty cousins. I know it’s naive but I couldn’t believe the hypocrisy when January 6th happened. I could swear I heard the media saying the “protests don’t have to be peaceful”.

Oh I’m not disagreeing. I just got so sick of the media bending over backwards to defend BLM, but now they are so concerned with violating the law.
Similar to how they cheered on Hillary when she questioned the election results but now it’s “dangerous” to do so.
