I would like a source as well. I do think it is true but I would like a link/ study for it.
I remember a study/ article about boys in orphanages that were abused by older boys and in turn would abuse smaller boys once they grew up, but this was more then a decade ago.
My history teacher was also telling us about spartans that they were encouraged to have sex between boys to help them form better connections within their unit and as a result they would sometimes have problems having sex with women so they would dress the wife in armor so they could sleep with them. As an idea, in spartan society the kids would be taken to become soldiers from age 7 so I'm certain any such encouragement would classify as abuse.
It is highly possible that my history teacher was trying to groom boys and the entire story was bullshit.
That whole story about the spartans is bullshit. The spartans were EXTREMELY anti-homosexuality. It's the Athenians who were big into boy-love. Xenophon wrote a lot about the spartans and they were known for being disgusted with the athenian sexual practices, seeing them as decedent and depraved.
source?
Male homosexuals are four times more likely to have been sexually abused before pubescence than male heterosexuals.
As they were not sexually aware when they were abused, correlation is not a viable explanation - which leaves causation.

I half expected that. I do not trust teachers.
