Doesn't help that Canada during all those wars wasn't a sovereign nation, but just a colony of England, and what with the whole "declaration of independence" thing, the USA wasn't on the best terms with England. Most of North America's wars have been proxy wars between the English and the French. North and South Canada, North and South USA, Canada vs USA... Brits and Francs.
