At this point they almost all look the same and are now progressing into more woke nonsense. Before the woke shit was a bit a subtle.
Feel like they all have the same generic gameplay and ideas
Just tried Sable demo, cool soundtrack and artwork but it's basically a walking simulator where you play a fat muslim
And don't get me started on pixel art games. They were a fun throwback at first but not anymore
Anyways maybe I just think this way because of all the trash indie games getting released that I find it hard to find a good one
Enjoyed Katana Zero, River City girls and some others lately but I feel like they are few and far between
8/10 AAA games are also a disappointment lately, and the ones that look like they would be awesome end up being a live service game or co-op.
Hard to find good single player story driven games lately outside of some of the Sony exclusives like Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, Days gone etc.
Maybe i'm just getting old
Rant over
I think I understand what you're getting at. I'd at least say most indies fall into either 2D throwback games or walking simulator with an extra dose of woke. I think where I'd disagree from a personal wants perspective at least is I really don't want more open world story games. At least not in the traditional Sony/Ubisoft model.
My #1 complaint though, games take a themselves way too seriously. They forgot to let me have fun. I don't want everything hyper-realistic. It's not all games by any means, but certainly a lot of the popular highly rated western games. I've been playing Man Eater and I love being a totally unrealistic electrified shark that can go around munching leftists off the beach. I love smashing enemies in the head with anything I can grab while I take on 100 of them as one person. The latter even has a serious story, but the game itself lets me have fun.
