Congrats guys. Most folks never make it past prototypes. Finishing a game, any game, is no small achievement.
I remember people giving me flack on sticking up for some dude who made that low tier VN and got kicked off Steam. It still takes time and effort to plug in the proper coding and working the art assets to get the animations or still screens needed for that stuff.
Yeah. More often than not folks starting out with game dev follow a couple of tutorials, try something too complex too soon and land up with a number of half built prototypes that arent even playable let alone moving towards completion. Then many quit.
They established a realistic scope, are building something of their own and gaining valuable experience while producing an actual game at a steady pace. Props.
Yeah pretty much year of being a hobby dev. My dev directory is a wasteland of half started prototypes and proof of concepts. The number on lesson is to LIMIT THE SCOPE and RELEASE!
