Smith is a rapist. Trans activists are constantly telling trans people that cisgender people are violently opposed to being raped, but he did it anyway. And in doing so, he subjected Etute to an extreme stressor that Etute could not reasonably prepare himself to face. Even if killing his rapist was not the moral decision, it would not be moral to condemn him for reacting as any normal people might if they were similarly forced into an encounter with their rapist without even being given time to accept that they were raped.
