A few hours ago Reddit mods announced they're getting rid of something that was once run by people passionate about the project. When it was showing signs of making money Reddit stepped in and took over [much like what happened with the AMAs and Victoria] however Reddit being the fucktards that they are fucked things up and didn't actually make the money they wanted so are now not only taking the ball home so nobody else can play but stabbing the ball, setting it on fire, and burying the remains.

Given how widespread Secret Santa has been the reaction from Reddit users is a mixed one of anger, frustrations, and hostility. All of which are entirely deserved for how poorly Reddit have handled this and then proceeded to fuck up.

The mods gave what is likely a completely bullshit blog post linked above why this was done and then mentioned they would answer questions that users may have as to why this happened.

Unsurprisingly they haven't answered any questions.

tl;dr Secret Santa used to be something loved by Reddit users. Then Reddit took over, it turned to shit, and they've finally taken it round back and put two shots of Covid in it.
