I'm not saying it's the sole reason, but Oregon and Washington, outside of their population dense centers, are seas of red. I mean there's a shit ton of firearm groups in the PNW.

It was probably a homeless dude high on heroin.

That does not exactly narrow the pool of suspects in Portland.
