True, but I think these are very specific circumstances that aren't easily replicated in other markets or genres. You can usually only get a few before massive changeups are needed. Ubisoft learned that with Ass's Creed where the current crop is barely recognizable to a few years ago, despite having a mass loyal fanbase on its own.
But I do agree, I'd rather play the same derivative stuff than them "innovate" this way. Shit I've bought nearly every DBZ game for 20 years on now. At least I have nearly infinite games to play from history rather than forced to participate in their new garbage.
