Yes, this isn't new nor unique to Covid. It's also not what many medical bodies are claiming regarding the Covid vaccines. Any that are doing so are falsely explaining what it's meant to do which is to decrease the response someone suffers if/when they catch it, not to prevent transmission ever happening again.
Not every virus can be vaccinated against, see Dengue and what happens when you get it a second time [spoilers; it's death most of the time]. Not every virus that can be vaccinated against is done so for the same reason, [some are to prevent subsequent infections, some are done so the body knows what the fuck it's doing the next time around and doesn't get 1 shot].
On top of all this a lot of people who are getting the various vaccines don't need it in the first place if they already had a prior Covid infection since that would result in the same response as what the vaccine is trying to stimulate. Antibody testing is what should have been done originally to prevent the waste of however many vaccine shots that fall into the category but the general public is too fucking stupid to understand this so the approach ended up being "Everyone gets shot", pun intended.
