I get the feeling that this is more about dedicated voice actors getting pushed out by A-listers, and race just happens to be a way that some of them can keep this field of work for themselves. I feel for them. For many years, the stars felt voice work for animation was beneath them. Now that it's cool, they move in and take all the work.
That would be a sign of a growing industry, and dedicated voice actors would still find work either side by side with the A-listers, or in lesser known projects. Methinks this is because nobody watches their movies anymore and it's the A-listers who are jumping ship.
