I used to love L&O: SVU until I got more redpilled on pretty much everything. Now I just see it as the woke trash it is.
It's not you 'getting redpilled'. I know it isn't, because I've binge watched 22 years worth of it in the last 3 months.
YOU didn't change. The show did.
They used to say "Tranny" and "He-she" all the time, even while they protected these people's rights, they didn't pretend they weren't a bunch of weirdos.
They had an episode based on Dr.Money, which ends with, instead of the twins comitting suicide, one of them MURDERS HIM and they both get away with it because there's no way to prove which of them did it, and the officers are just like "I don't fucking blame them. Justice fucking served." This about the guy who coined the terms 'sexual orientation' and 'gender identity'. The only propagandistic elements of the show were the near total absense of guilty black perpetrators, and trend of Jews committing crimes 'for the right reasons', and, in typical, inexplicable Jewish media fashion, catholics are portrayed better than protestants.
Slowly, things start to change. "He-she" all but vanishes from the script. Even "tranny" becomes rare.
The point where Perfect Atheistic Jew Detective Munch leaves the show (2013) is the point of no return, because without his conspiracy theorist mindset (a mindset you wouldn't see in a protagonist today!) dropping redpills about the government, the writers have no built-in obstacles to shovelling raw bullshit into your mouth. The breaks have been removed, and very quickly the show devolves into leftist fantasy land.

I think it's a New York thing. According to the Public Religious Research Institute, the New York City metro area has about 7 Catholics for every 5 Protestants. This is quite different from America as a whole which has about 9 Protestants for every 4 Catholics.
I never really got into it because there was way too much "man bad" in it, and then sometimes "woman bad, but it was really a man's fault all along." The only episode I remember is one with Fred Savage where he played a charming (murderer? rapist? don't remember for sure) that kept dodging everything the SVU tried to pin on him even though he was clearly guilty.
I was rooting for him the whole time. Go Kevin Arnold/grandson of Columbo.
