Knee-jerk reaction before reading: No shit, Sherlock. That was pretty fucking obvious when you shoehorned in Captain Flatass into the Infinity Gauntlet storyline and then dragged the Captain Falcon story arc into the expanded MCU.
From the article:
Translated: We had to run through all the good stories before we were forced to start dragging in the D-listers from the Marvel back catalog. Besides, everyone knows this is just going to be there to set up some other stuff in the universe and so we can jerk off the ChiComs to get more money from them.
Translated: We had to figure out how to get rid of his Yellow Peril BBEG and get him out of the Bruce Lee pajamas, and we're hoping that anyone who actually read the original books either won't notice or has stopped caring about the character.
Shit like this is why I'm glad I checked the fuck out after Endgame.
I checked out literally the moment Captain Marvel led that retarded girl power scene in Endgame. I don't understand why that scene got a pass from even the most critical internet reviewers. Seemingly everyone hated it, but no one seems to actually hold it against the movie. Why not? It was the most overtly feminist/leftist moment in the entire MCU, worse than anything I can recall from the Captain Marvel solo film.
Infinity War was nearly perfect.
Endgame's plot has a lot of merit to it, the opening scenes with Antman especially, but the very existence of its plot makes the balls of Infinity War just worse overall, negating the massive twist in a major blanket "And everyone lived happily ever after, except these three characters whose actors were ready to move on because we milked them to death."
I checked out after civil war. The writing went to shit after long before that.
I stopped watching them after Iron Man...I don't like that shit, I'm a horror guy.
I checked out around changing Ms. Marvel to Captain Marvel (and then Carl Manvers) in the comics.
I’m lucky in that my MCU-loving family will give me some of that old-fashioned geek shame when I keep referring to Carol Danvers as Ms. Marvel instead of “Captain Marvel”.
Feige addressed the race and gender swaps in the upcoming film and revealed that diversity in the film is the reason it was placed at the top of Marvel’s priority list So they actually want to ruin the movies too now, after seeing what this did to comic sales?
As the line from Vox Day's book goes, "SJWs always double down" - that's exactly what they're doing. They don't care that Carl Manvers, Captain Falcon, and FemThor failed miserably in the comics, they're going to keep forcing them down the throats of the fans and continue to blame the failures on the ebil muhsoggynist -istphobes that are part of the fandom and need to be removed so they can enjoy their story in a safe space.
I think I threw up in my mouth a little while writing that...
