my belief is that a lot of these people are casuals, if they care about the game at all. they're "tourists". they're not going to spend money on this game.
keep in mind that I'm not saying that they shouldn't be upset about this. I'm also not saying that everyone who cares about this is like that. nor that most of the game's fans are not bothered by this (I'm sure they are). but certainly these people exist.
