Definitely true today, though thankfully for me, my neighbors did eventually pay for their stupidity when some cops came banging on their door with a search warrant. but by the time I came back a couple weeks later, their apartment was empty, the building no longer smelled, and there was an eviction notice on their door. I can only hope got tossed in a cell for a long time.
