"Breakthrough case" describes any case of covid-19 infection that occurs in a person who has been fully vaccinated.
The CDC is officially using two wildly different standards for reporting covid-19 infections depending on wether or not the infected person is vaccinated or unvaccinated. This puts every claim of vaccine efficacy (with respect to preventing infection) in doubt.
The CDC have now turned around and claimed that masks are no longer necessary for vaccinated people because the vaccines prevent infection - a claim they logically cannot make given their admission that they no longer report the data that would support such a claim.
they are reducing the PCR test cycles to confirm a "case" and they are only counting vaccinated cases as cases if the person ends up in the hospital or worse.
Literally what we should have been doing from the start. A "case" doesnt mean shit if there are no symptoms. Its like wearing a cast on your arm because there is a chance it is broken yet it is fully functional, doesnt hurt, doesnt move funny, or a bone isnt sticking out.
Yes, they did admit this.
Then they stopped counting cases of infection among vaccinated people.
Then they claimed the the vaccines prevent infection.
Then they said masks aren't necessary for vaccinated people because the vaccines prevent infection.
Next up: we need vaccine passports because otherwise we can't prove who is and isn't allowed to go without a mask.
It's more likely that they're going to shove them up our asses.
Red states tried to get out in front of this. It will be interesting to see how cucked businesses behave in those states. Likewise, how does a blue state enforce draconian vaccination measures when neighboring states do not? Especially if case and death rates are similar between both sets of states.
