The song is "I believe I can fly", not "I believe I can crawl". And best of luck pushing politically correct bullshit into games, something people literally do to get away from the bullshit.
Lobby group Deaf Australia says the implant "implies that deaf people are ill or incomplete individuals, are lonely and unhappy, cannot communicate effectively with others and are all desperately searching for a cure for their condition. [This] demeans deaf people, belittles their culture and language and makes no acknowledgment of the diversity of lives deaf people lead, or their many achievements." - Practical Ethics
I imagine they'd make the same argument for the paralyzed. It's not that you are unable to cure paralysis/loss legs. It's that being in a wheelchair is an important part of your identity and you should celebrate your disability rather than seeing it as something you wish to have cured.
Dear god, it’s fine if your character is disabled or lame if it makes sense in the world. The best way to doing it is either make it an old guy with a cane, or an artificer or something in a mech suit or something. Wheelchairs are just not fantastical
I get the impression the people who get angry about these things (on both sides of the argument) have never read the critical hit tables for Dark Heresy.

A world where you can raise the dead... but you can't cure a cripple. Lol

Yeah, meanwhile the actual paralyzed/legless are just saying "Bionic legs when? Fuck this wheelchair shit."
It is sometimes called a "dungeon crawl". Perhaps the cripples can take it literally.
