I've nicknamed it the Margaret Thatcher Effect. The writer is fairly left leaning, and writes about how much Thatcher was evil, by making up terrible things, and mentioning ideas that Thatcher had. Then, when the left leaning folks are in charge, and doing a lot of the same things, they don't realize their early writings show their own evil.
There was a story of Doctor Who where he and ace were in an underground bunker, and laughter was evil. The villain was a woman who demanded everything be perfect, and no one was allowed to be unhappy with her. I saw it during the 2016 election, and was amazed at how much it looked like Hillary Clinton.
