Trump was a stop gap. He couldn't get the $6B he needed for his wall yet somehow found $30B to send to Israel in "Military Aid".
Well yeah, because he doesn't get the final say. It's not like he sandbagged the wall plans. He pushed as hard as anyone could reasonably push on his situation.
I think he framed himself that way but in the end he wasn't very effective at real change.
How could he have been more effective with the entire establishment (media, spooks, etc) lined up against him? Even with all of that and the Wuhan Flu he still go re-elected in a landslide.
Don't get me wrong, Trump was far from perfect and could have done some things better but his ceiling was low because the deck was stacked against him.
Does, in fact. The president can unilaterally end any foreign aid at any time, and US law already forbids it to Israel. He violated the law by supporting them.
It's not like he sandbagged the wall plans.
He did, though. His ✡son in law✡ told him what to do (and not do) and he obeyed.
He pushed as hard as anyone could reasonably push on his situation.
He did literally nothing and blamed everyone else for it.
