I found this fairly accurate in 2017 when I saved it. I think people mistake Bronies as Leftward-leaning because they're viewed as "challenging masculinity" or something when they just liked a cartoon show. Incidentally, the pony the FedEx guy liked was the country Pony with a generic southern accent. Most of the Lefties I've met in my 4 1/2 years in the enemy territory of Portland routinely virtue signal about how The South is the single worst cause of all the suffering of the country, and if we could just dispose of them, we'd all be better off.
For what it's worth, I myself identify as more and more right-leaning as the months go by simply because there's little other political option besides glowing, or retreating to the mountains and hoping the barbarians never come to find me.
Yeah no, that's not accurate and it's a ridiculous caricature of political philosophy that only seems correct if you get all your politics from twitter and reddit.
Poison in other words.
It is not a challenge to masculinity, it's infantilization, which only leads to a lack of masculinity. Infantilization has been a left wing trope for the last 20 years at least. I don't care if your ridiculous children's cartoon obsession happens to be over a "southern" pony. How is this even a topic of consideration?
Also if you "go to the mountains" to escape this conflict you'll 100% die there and not of natural causes. And them coming for you would be the least of your concerns because there's a big difference between camping or going survivor mode and actually eking out a living out there.
I brought up the "southern pony" because it was the one that the shooter you mentioned liked the most, and directly posted about before he did his dirty deed. I brought it up in order to compare my experience with Lefties hating what they think the south is, and contrast it with your statement about him being leftwing, even though he obsessed over the southern stereotype character.
I don't have twitter, and I never used reddit for politics, just video games. Good try, though. I am further unsurprised that a TV show with an age range of 3-10 would be considered 'infantalizing.' I didn't expect your reply to be so pissy. :/
I called out the southern pony thing being ridiculous because it's a massive fucking reach. Just because the pony is southern that somehow makes it right wing? Because the left hate the south? Let me tell you something man they go back and forth. As an example LetterKenny is basically "The rednecks are just like us" the show where they imagine rural people to hold all their political opinions. They do the same with the American south.
I could not possibly care less whether you have a twitter and I don't believe you about the reddit thing because reddit is marinated in politics. And because saying "good try though" pretty stereotypical for reddit politics and usually from the beta side of the aisle.
Also " am further unsurprised that a TV show with an age range of 3-10 would be considered 'infantalizing.'"... you realize this means it's a show for children right? When a grown and single man obsesses over that show what is that but infantilization?
Also lol calling me pissy because I don't appreciate your shitty little pony show and it's pedo fan base.
God, you're just so intent on trying to show how much better than me you are. Your attitude is more reddit-tier than anything I've said so far, and it's clear there's nothing to convince you to talk to me like a normal person. Be careful not to fall off your high horse.
