Wells Fargo is just saying "Never heard of her". Not the best they could do -- they should have said (regardless of whether Cassie worked there) either nothing or the corporate version of "fuck off, Twitter doesn't decide on our employment policies". But not helping the mob target either.
Why on earth would you even say that, other than to take the heat off yourself and make sure that the mob moves on to try to attack the company where she works?
Back during the height of the BLM riots last year, my small company's facebook page got several messages from rando Karens across the country. A former employee had posted about the most mild meme you can imagine--it was a picture of a septic tank and a caption like "I bet a little of this would take care of the rioters."
These Karens were writing in demanding that we fire this person, and one even went so far as to say "You look like a nice a company, it would be a shame if people found out what kind of monsters you employ."
I replied back that we don't care what our employees do off the clock, we don't ever look at employees' social media, and we don't comment on internal company issues.
It's just the first part, taking the heat off themselves. Besides, it's quite possible she actually does work for Wells Fargo, under her maiden name or perhaps a former married name; she got married to Darymple after starting work at Washington Mutual (which was acquired by WF).

Yeah, freaking disgusting.

I wish I had told them to fuck off.
I wished they would all get culturally enriched until their epidermis burned to a crisp and separated from the dermal layer.
Necklacing?
Ah, I see you are a man of culture.
You might say it because she works for you, and you think lying to the lynch mob will get better results than openly defying them.

I’m pretty sure Washington Mutual became Chase
Ah, you're right, it was Golden West; BoA bought Countrywide and WaMu got bought by Chase.
When it comes to their intent, sure it was only the first part.
But this did have the effect of helping them with their witch-hunt, assuming they told the truth.
