Because the Marxists in charge of things now don’t want you to think about the atrocities that have resulted from Marx’s philosophies.

It's easier for the normies to understand since communist atrocities are not taught with nearly as much rigor.
It’s an overuse trope of the left to disparage anyone not left of Stalin, so I don’t think we should use it as well.
Because I know of no catchy example like the Hitler salute or phrases everyone knows from the commies.
The Hitler/nazi trope is so overused by the left to disparage anyone else that I suggest not using it.
