I've seen new games come out on PS4 before. Rocket league is a good example of that when the PS4 first launched. It's hard to say what there mentality is. It could be a cash grab, attempt to fill the servers up, or even something else.
The demo is passable. The game is a looter shooter trying to fill a niche being a cross between Gears of War and Bulletstorm (same studio). The impression I got was that they're trying to pick up some of the displeased Destiny players. It's a 3 player team PvE co-op focused game that has full crossplay/cross-gen capabilities. The library for ps5/XSX is still pathetic so it will probably sell.
Aside from that line about the redneck DC mob, the only other woke detail I noticed was the character creator. One face pick for every race, multiple beards and hairstyles, kind of pathetic but favoring no specific race even though the male voice for your character is the actor who plays Homelander and is lily white as it gets.
I've not followed this game. Is it suppose to be woke or something?
It looks pretty bland but they had a cringeworthy reference to the jan 6th protest, something about "saving your ass from that mob of rednecks"
the game is as far as i am aware made by a polish studio
additionally it was due to launch last year but was delayed i don't think they would have re-recorded voice lines to add in such a reference
i could be wrong though
Had a slight "questioning reality" moment and thought i got it mixed up but nope

oh it does actually say DC in the dialogue
ok then i was incorrect
i think this https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2148758/ is the lead writer but i'm not 100% sure no idea about any of the other writers

Demo requires a square enix account, but doesn't integrate the signup process into the game itself. So it's a failure in my book.
It may be a test run before SE puts Avengers in GP.
It could be that publishers wanted to ensure relatively good initial player base and made deal before demo turned out to be relatively good.
