I placed it in quotes because the name practiced no longer suits the ideology it was conceived under. Same as I would use “liberal” when we all know they’re just genocidal commies.

You still don't get it then. It perfectly suits Republicans. They never represented the interests and the values you hold, they were just a different flavor of evil and betrayal.
