So at my local comic book the back issues are selling so fast and the section is so crowded that they started to put a time limit on how long you can be there. I was reading an article talking about the rise in popularity with back issues and it reminded of an article last year about the rise of classic tv channels.
Shouldn’t that be a sign to modern day entertainment companies?
I’m 40 and have been buying Spider-Man and Superman (my favorite characters) all my life but not enjoying the newer stuff anymore. I’m thinking of just buying older stuff with Marvel/DC and buying Manga or independent companies like alterna.
The good news is there are so many classic marvel and DC comics. I’ve recently bought a bunch of old Conan and Avengers comics for instance. Also great Dark Horse Star Wars Old EU stuff.
But do you think entertainment companies see the popularity in older stuff?
A lot of these companies are so bloated with cash, they can afford to explore SJW avenues for revenue. Not to say it will pan out in the end, but shareholders are willing to indulge their attempts. Worst case scenario is trannies buy more comics than staight white kids (or straight white kids by tranny comics).
Do they? CEOs always have excuses for why their shit doesn't sell: waycism, huwite supremacy, wuflu, etc. Never SJW dogma. Of course, low-information shareholders and their complicit agents just take what they say at face value.
Shareholders are like mushrooms: Kept in the dark and fed bullshit.
I would not be too shocked if a significant chunk of marvels comic book sales are propped up by reprints of collections of older stuff and obviously their movies.
