Just yesterday I read about the heroic child in the Gulags, who refused to play along with Soviet propaganda, when an outsider came in to inspect the conditions. He outright told the inspector that everything he seen was a lie, that the conditions were usually far worse. That little boy ended up getting shot once the inspector left. That heroic child sacrificed his life in the hope of exposing the system, whereas this child sacrifices his family in the name of social validation.
