What kind of retard wants unironically to role play as wheelchair bound? Isn’t the point of fantasy to have fun or for escapism? Why are people trying to remove the escapism?
Because their whole identity is based on being a cripple, or their disease, or their skin color, or their gender, or if they are a maamgender. Otherwise, their personality would be even more 2 dimensional than normal.
I would RP as a paraplegic but fuck the wheel chair in a magic fantasy setting. I would use necromancy or geomancy to animate a walking device. I could see lots of fun RP potential for something like that.
We got a new item for the Evil Overlord List: "If I know that one or more of the heroes uses a combat wheelchair, my dungeon will not be wheelchair accessible. In fact, I will go out of the way to make it as difficult for wheelchair users to get around."
I seem to recall Undermountain being accessible only by a well that you had to climb a rope to get into and out of, in some bar (but I didn't run it, this is what our GM did.)
So the guy gets down fine, but either (1) hey, we forgot the chair up there or 2) Barb tosses the thing down, where it smashes to bits.

I checked the rules. Turns out that the barb tossing it is fine. For the wheelchair to be unusuable, someone has to crit on 9 called shots to the wheelchair with melee weapons or melee spells in a single encounter.
.....
Handiquacks.
