My colleagues are mostly outspoken leftists, I noticed they do the same thing all the time during social interactions. I assume to convince others and strengthen their own belief system. So basically they take what Colbert or John Oliver say and repeat it in a social context using the same formula.

I do not see them often saying something related to CNN. This comedy propaganda is a lot more efficient then fake news will ever be.
