There's a rumor going around that hardsuit fired mitsoda because he was writing a "male power fantasy" instead of what they wanted. From the drips and drabs coming out about this game, paradox made the right choice.
Oh yes, I was critical of hardsuit labs the moment they announced the game. Because Hardsuit labs made a very mediocre game called Blacklight. And my suspicion that they wouldn't be able to pull this off was confirmed with this.
Plus Chris Avellone leaving, and getting me too, hiring Cara Ellison(thankfully she left later), delaying the game to eliminate Chris' stuff, and more, was more evidence of crap coming from hardsuit labs.
So which do you think it is, because I am having a hard time squaring this:
Paradox had a moment of lucidity and realized that they were starring down the barrel of another flop that they couldnt afford, and thought that Hardsuit were more trouble then they were worth. So Paradox yeets them and decides to start from square 1 and seek to make a not-woke, "will actually sell" game?
Or 2) This is Paradox deciding that even though they want the woke, Hardsuit was in way over their head, and so they are going to keep the pedal down on the woke aspects but give it to a team that has more potential?
I haven't been following this at all, but my cynical grain of salt is certainly leaning toward #2. They may unwoke it slightly, depending on what was done to it, but I'd be shocked if it was their primary goal. I don't really foresee it recovering from being woke nonsense. But again, haven't been following, so that's just my intuition.

Considering it is paradox... I'm goingnto go with 2.
